There is a list of exercises that are safe and can be done during pregnancy. Swimming is an ideal exercise as well, which relaxes our body and makes us feel refreshed. There are many aquanatal classes or pregnancy swimming classes and services in many localities, you may get enrolled in any of them. There is also pregnancy yoga which helps with body toning and breathing control. All of these are good ways to relax and maintain a good body.

Eat well

There is no alternative to eating well as you’re now feeding two bodies. A body which doesn’t get good food is less likely to be happy and relaxed. A balanced diet consisting of fishes with essential omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals can contribute to good body and mind. Tuna, sardines, and trout twice a week is helpful. A very important amino acid called tryptophan boosts your feel good hormone production of melatonin and serotonin so tryptophan enriched foods like nuts, seeds, chicken, turkey and eggs should be in the diet. Also, keep track of water intake, staying properly hydrated is important. Take 7-8 glasses of water every day and drink more fruit juices.

Talk and share thoughts

If you’re worried about something, let it go. Talk about it with a close friend or family member. Keeping thoughts trapped inside increases your stress levels and this prevents you from feeling relaxed. There is absolutely no harm in sharing and sharing will also help relieve stress for you and bring goodness for the child. Talk to your partner, let him know your feelings and thoughts. Talk to other mother to be women and share.

Massage therapy

Massage therapy has wonderful effects on the body. Massage can be taken at home from your partner, with simple techniques but for complex ones a professional should be consulted and this helps a mother by instigating a state of deep relaxation. Oil and aromatherapy types of massage is like a form of treatment that makes one ultimately relaxed. Meditation is also another great way of relaxation which helps reduce the stress hormone cortisol. Sit in a quiet place and let all the stress go out of your body through breathing exercises, slow and deep long breaths while keeping your muscles and shoulder relaxed.
